Effective supervision remains one of the fundamental principles of institutional growth and operational efficiency within the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). In line with this philosophy, the Zonal Commanding Officer, FRSC Zone RS12 Bauchi, Assistant Corps Marshal Leye Adegboyega, fsi, undertook his Second Quarter 2026 supervisory visit to RS12.2 Borno Sector Command, Maiduguri, on Tuesday, 30 June 2026.
The visit formed part of the Corps’ established management framework for monitoring operational performance, evaluating the implementation of policies and directives, assessing personnel welfare and logistics, and reinforcing accountability, discipline and professionalism across Commands under the Zone.
Beyond routine inspection, the exercise provided a strategic platform for interaction with Commanding Officers, Regular Marshals, Special Marshals and critical stakeholders. It also created an opportunity for operational review, knowledge sharing and the exchange of practical ideas aimed at improving service delivery in line with the Corps’ mandate of reducing road traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities.
Receiving the Zonal Commanding Officer, the Borno State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Usman A. Muhammad, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to advancing the objectives of the Federal Road Safety Corps through sustained operational efficiency, effective traffic management and strengthened public safety initiatives.

As part of the visit, the Zonal Commanding Officer inspected operational facilities and logistics within the Command, emphasising the importance of proper maintenance, effective deployment of resources and prudent management of government assets to ensure maximum operational value.
A review of the Second Quarter and First Half of 2026 operational performance records placed RS12.2 Borno Sector Command at the forefront among the three Sector Commands in Zone RS12. The assessment further identified RS12.21 Biu as the highest-performing Unit Command among the twenty Unit Commands in the Zone, while RS12.25 Kwaya Kusar, RS12.28 Mafa, RS12.24 Benishek and RS12.22 Dikwa also ranked among the top-performing Unit Commands, reflecting a consistent commitment to operational standards across the Sector.
The Zonal Commanding Officer acknowledged the Command’s performance despite prevailing operational challenges and encouraged personnel to sustain the Corps’ core values of discipline, integrity, professionalism and service. He also recognised innovative initiatives introduced by the Sector Commander that have enhanced operational visibility, efficiency and productivity.
Recognising that road safety is a shared responsibility, Assistant Corps Marshal Adegboyega appreciated the sustained support of stakeholders and development partners who have complemented the Corps’ efforts through the provision of operational equipment and logistics. He particularly acknowledged the continued support of the Executive Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, whose commitment to strengthening road safety initiatives has contributed significantly to the Command’s operational capacity.
The supervisory visit also reinforced the Corps’ commitment to continuous improvement by encouraging healthy performance competition among Unit Commands. High-performing Commands were presented as practical models for operational excellence, while other Commands were encouraged to adopt best practices capable of improving service delivery.

In furtherance of the Corps’ public enlightenment mandate, the Zonal Commanding Officer announced plans for the publication of Safety Chronicles, a magazine designed to promote road safety education, document operational milestones, showcase stakeholder partnerships and project the positive image of the Federal Road Safety Corps. He called on personnel across RS12.2 Borno Sector Command to contribute meaningfully towards the successful publication and launch of the maiden edition scheduled for July 2026.
The supervisory visit concluded with renewed emphasis on institutional accountability, operational excellence, transparency and continuous capacity development.
