The Archbishop of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province and the Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, Most Rev. Williams Aladekugbe has urged Nigerians to be grateful to God and man so as to receive more blessings.
He called for continuous prayers for the country Nigeria, it’s leadership at all levels, the traditional rulers and all stakeholders in the governance of Nigeria
He also offered prayers for the land to enjoy peaceful co – existence, unity, progress and love for one another
Earlier in his sermon, the guest preacher, Rev. Canon Moses Sowale urges Nigerians to rely on God for their needs and stop murmuring, rumour mongering and fake news so as to move our country forward.
He spoke while delivering the sermon at the 1st Session of the 10th Synod held at the Cathedral of St. Peter Aremo, Ibadan on Thursday.
A statement by the Diocesan Communicator, Solomon Ayoade noted that, the cleric while referring the congregation to Psalm 1, enjoined Nigerians not to cast their bread on water which can be swept away, adding, “No wonder Jesus said, I am the bread of life and the spring of the living water which last forever.”
He appealed to the people not to rely on worldly bread and water that disappoint and which can neither quench their thirst nor stop their hunger.
At the opening service of the Synod were eminent personalities which included serving and retired Bishops, clergies and their wives, legal luminaries, laites, traditional rulers and other invited guests.
The Synod activities continue with official opening on Friday 15th and to be concluded on Sunday 17th with thanksgiving service.
