Worried by the way the good intentions have been compromised hundreds of concerned youths in Oyo state under the auspices of #Notobadgovernance over the weekend trooped out to embark on environmental sanitation and cleaning of the environment.

The youths who were seen removing debris, objects and heavy items used for roadblocks during the #EndSARS protest across the state said the effort is to ensure the state and country return back to normal and clean.

The convener, Mr Kunle Odujare while explaining the rationale behind the decision said the move is to ensure that the roads and streets are free of items and objects that had littered major parts of the capital city and still give the impression of fear and anxiety among the residents.

He added that the decision is also a way of contributing their quota to restoring the sanity of the state and dissociate themselves from the various lootings and destructions going on in different parts of the state.

Odujare added that the young people are out to show the world that being responsible comes from different area and that they will continue to show some level of responsibility from time to time.

Some of the areas cleaned up include Challenge, Iwo-Road and Mokola areas with all road barricades cleared off the street.

While calling on the people of the state to join the efforts of cleaning and clearing the roads in the neighbourhood, the Convener assures the state government that the youths are advocates of peace and not to foment trouble.

He further added that cleaning of major parts of the state is part of the strategies that have been put in place following the earlier decision to suspend the protest across the state, expressing optimism that more youths across the state will soon join the train to clean up the streets.
