The member representing Ibadan NorthWest State Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honorable Dawood Akanni Olalere, popularly known as D-Al-Ameen, has officially resigned his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He announced his resignation in a letter dated February 13, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of Ward 7, PDP, Ibadan North West Local Government, Ibadan.
In the letter, the lawmaker said his decision to leave the party takes immediate effect, attributing his resignation to what he described as “long lingering and unresolvable division bedeviling the party”.
Shortly after the resignation was announxed on Monday, Corenrws.ng gathered that the lawmaker has immediately switched his political allegiance to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state.
In a video sighted on Monday, the lawmaker was received in his constituency amidst singing, dancing, drumming and jubilations with the supporters declaring their new port as the ADC.
