The Chairman Oyo State Project Performance Monitoring Agency, Muftau Open-Salawu has said a sure way to uphold and maintain the various legacies projects executed by the governor Seyi Makinde’s administration is to support the candidate of the governor in the forthcoming 2027 election.

He spoke while featuring as the Guest of the Month during a Current Affairs programme at the state-owned Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) which was monitored on Wednesday.

Open-Salawu, who spoke on various issues said through the agency, the various projects ongoing in the state are in line with prescribed standard, saying there is no room for compromise in project efficiency and delivery.

He said to ensure that these legacies are sustained, it was important for the people of rhe state, particularly the electorate to adopt and support the candidate that the governor will be presenting in the election.

Speaking on the clamour for power rotation and shift to Oke-Ogun zone of the state, the Agency boss said although power comes from God, it is earned by the numbers in democratic system.

Noting that he holds no grudge or opposition against any competent, qualified and willing individuals from any part of the state being given the privilege to govern the state, he said the place of the numbers can not be overstressed.

Stressing that the people of Ibadan as a zone knows how to use its large population through collaboration and synergy with other parts to achieve political victory, he urged people of other zones to seek collaborations and synergy with other parts to achieve desired results.

Apparently speaking to the advocates of power shift, he said, “Power comes from God. But, in democracy, it is about numbers. If you don’t have thennumbers that can make your win, you would just be in the race.

“You have to negotiate for power. It won’t just come to you. The people of Ibadan knows they have the numbers and are using it. That does not mean people who are vast and credible should not be given the opportunity.

“People have to work for it, negotiate and do the needful to have power. Everybody has to work for it and how we conduct ourselves everyday matters.”

Speaking on how the projects being undertaken by the Makinde’s administration can be sustained, the Project Performance Monitoring Agency boss said “The people have to support the candidate of governor Seyi Makinde in the forthcoming governorship election.”

He called on the people to be more politically conscious and involve in political affairs, particularly in the choices and selection of leaders.
