The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has called on the people of Ekiti State and Nigerians at large to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all candidates of the APC overwhelming electoral support in the 2027 general elections, declaring that the President’s performance, reform initiatives and commitment to national development have earned him another term in office.

Professor Yilwatda made the call on Thursday at the APC presidential campaign rally held in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, where he joined Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), governors and other prominent party stakeholders to present the APC candidates to the people of Ekiti State.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the National Chairman expressed delight at the massive turnout and enthusiastic reception accorded the party’s leadership and campaign train, describing the crowd as a strong demonstration of the people’s confidence in the APC and their support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the rally provided an opportunity to present the party’s candidates, from President Tinubu to those contesting seats in the National Assembly and the Ekiti State House of Assembly, while reaffirming the APC’s determination to sustain its leadership and deliver greater prosperity to Nigerians.

Yilwatda described President Tinubu as both a performer and a reformer, noting that the administration had embarked on far-reaching reforms aimed at repositioning the Nigerian economy, strengthening public institutions and creating opportunities for citizens and businesses.

He particularly highlighted the administration’s tax reforms, explaining that the new framework was designed to protect low-income earners and small businesses from unnecessary tax burdens while allowing them to retain more resources for personal and business development.

According to him, the reforms reflect the President’s commitment to building a fairer tax system in which the burden of taxation is not disproportionately imposed on those least able to bear it.

The APC National Chairman also drew attention to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a significant intervention in expanding access to higher education and ensuring that financial constraints do not deny deserving Nigerian students the opportunity to pursue their academic ambitions.

He noted that eligible beneficiaries also receive a monthly upkeep allowance of ₦20,000, providing additional support to students and their families.

On infrastructure, Yilwatda pointed to several important road projects in Ekiti State, including major road connections between Ado-Ekiti and Akure, as well as other completed and ongoing projects, as evidence of the Federal Government’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure, enhancing economic activities and facilitating development across the country.

He maintained that the Tinubu administration’s development agenda was not limited to policy pronouncements but was reflected in practical interventions designed to improve the lives of Nigerians.

Presenting President Tinubu to the people of Ekiti State for another term, Yilwatda urged voters to support the APC across all elective positions, stressing the importance of electing candidates who would work in harmony with the President to sustain ongoing reforms and accelerate national development.

He further called for the election of APC candidates into the National Assembly and State House of Assembly, noting that a strong legislative presence would strengthen the party’s capacity to advance its development agenda and deliver on its promises to Nigerians.

The National Chairman reaffirmed the APC’s position as Nigeria’s dominant political party, with an extensive national structure and presence across the country’s political landscape.

He expressed confidence that the party would consolidate its electoral strength in 2027 and continue to provide purposeful leadership capable of driving economic recovery, national development and shared prosperity.

Yilwatda urged party members, supporters and stakeholders in Ekiti State to remain united, mobilised and committed to the collective objective of securing victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

He concluded by expressing optimism that the Renewed Hope Agenda would continue to deliver meaningful progress for Nigerians, calling on the electorate to renew their confidence in President Tinubu and the APC.
