The Presiding Bishop, Victory International Church, Rehoboth Cathedral, Oluyole, Ibadan, Taiwo Adelakun has urged Nigerians to have hope in the country, saying things will soon turn around for the nation.
The cleric who said there is still hope for the country despite its numerous challenges said the citizens must have faith in God and in the government.
Adelakun spoke while fielding questions from reporters during a press conference to herald the Global Miracle Crusade themed “Emmanuel”, slated for February 2nd to 5th, 2025 at the Crusade Ground, Wonder City, opposite Dominion University, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Oyo State.
He said the interdenominational crusade which is in collaboration with other bodies is a divine mandate to raise more people for the kingdom, adding that the crusade would provide solutions and salvation to mankind.
According to the Bishop, many many music ministers will be ministering at the crusade, as he assures that, adequate security has been made, alongside free transportation and material provisions for feeding the participants across different parts of Ibadan.
Urging Nigerians to learn to tolerate one another, he said he is convinced that God is about to turn around the economy of the country in a way that will surprise the whole world, Nigerians inclusive.
The cleric who is the Chancellor, Dominion University however called on political office holders to be more fiscally responsible and avoid spending on things that are needless.
Bishop Adelakun said “Everyone knows what is going on in the country but anyone can exempt themselves by their faith and believe in God.
“The choice is ours how we want to live in Nigeria. It is a question of what you believe and how you run your life. I believe that things will get better for Nigeria this year.
“Our nation needs to revalue the direction she is facing and this comes with leadership. We cannot be spending money as if we have it when we don’t. There is need for financial re-engineering.
“God is calling us to fiscal discipline, planning and budgeting. God said he will do a new thing. Our economy will shock the world. Something will happen to our economy soon that we ourselves will be surprised.”
He said further “There is hope for this nation. Why our young people are rushing out of the country is because they have lost hope. When you lost hope, you may take steps that you may regret later. And many of them when they get there, the reality makes them see that the land is not greener on the other side. Don’t lose hope.”
Recommending how Nigerians can cope with the situation, the cleric said “The just shall live by faith. Let us develop our faith. It is not as bad as it is been projected.
“Creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship. We have to be creative, innovative and attract value. We can’t be doing things the same way and the same old manner and expect a different result. But, I can assure you that the Nigeria is going to turn around for good very soon.”
