The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Johnson Adenola has said the state under his watch will not condone any form of lawlessness from any quarters.
This is as he warned those he described as intending violators of anti-open grazing laws in the state to desist and respect the laws of the land.
He warned that those caught violating the anti-open grazing law in any parts of the 33 local government areas of the state would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
CP Adenola gave the warning while fielding questions from reporters shortly after a stakeholders meeting, held at the Command’s Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan.
He said the warning became imperative in view of recent reports of herders grazing on farmlands in different parts of the state.
He added that people, irrespective of the trade, craft or business vocation must limit themselves to their rights and not encroach on those of other people.
CP Adenola said, “The Command has received so many reports of herders grazing on the farmers’ farmland. I want to use this medium to remind the public that the Command will vehemently and seriously implement the anti-open grazing grazing law.
“We all have our rights. We should limit ourselves to wherever we supposed to be. We will not encourage people of encroaching on other people’s rights or destroying any other persons property in the course of carrying out their duty.
“Oyo state under my watch will not condone any act of lawlessness”
