Additionally, he said in the course of his reign, he will work to harness the energy of the youths while listening to the wisdom of the elders, even as he will try very hard to achieve kinder, more civil, more tolerant, more generous and more compassionate community.
This is as he promised to squarely address divisions, mend fences in truth and in honesty, just as he solicits for decorum, civility and decency as he engages all stakeholders so that peace and progress can return to the land, saying “our locust years are over for good.”

He thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for his fairness, steadfastness and courage in upholding the royal tradition, legal and all legitimate administrative processes that culminated in his appointment as the new Eleruwa.
Oba Adegbola said, “I stand before you on this occasion as an emblem of God’s mercy and uncommon grace as I am ascending this exalted stool of my forebears after so much struggle but mindful of my people’s yearning for healing and renewal.
“So today, I promise you all that I will spend every waking hour of my reign to work for the peace, unity, progress and development of all Eruwa people irrespective of age, social status, creed, section or royal preferences.
“In the course of my reign, I will work to harness the energy of our youths while listening to the wisdom of our elders. In general, I will try very hard to achieve kinder, more civil, more tolerant, more generous and more compassionate community.”
He further assures that the traditional council under his watch will collaborate the government to articulate the yearning of his people and to ensure government succour reach them every time he is called upon to play his part.
He added, “The Eleruwa in Council under my rule will always collaborate with the government to articulate the yearning of our people and to ensure government succour reach them every time we are called upon to play our part.
“In particular the Oyo state government can count on my throne as a partner in the efforts to lift our communities from poverty to prosperity through sustained economic and and infrastructural development.”
He urged the people of the town to embrace peace in the face of the myriads of challenges threatening their peaceful togetherness and oneness as a people.
“So let the word go out from today that anytime anywhere there is a legitimate expectation of peace, stability and development, I will harness all our energies so my domain shall remain a shining example and a beckon of hope and Inspiration among all communities. This is my pledge to my people, the State and the entire Nigerian nation.
“To my people of Eruwa, I will not pretend to be unaware of the societal challenges of this times and a number of issues festering differences we can do without, especially as we contend for positions or seek one advantage over the other among ourselves.
“We will squarely address our divisions and mend our fences in truth and in honesty. I solicit for your decorum, civility and decency as we engage with ourselves. Together peace and progress shall return to our land. Our locust years are over for good.
“To all I seek peace, cooperation and friendship not vendetta or vindictiveness. May the spirit of our ancestors and the divine purpose of Almighty God for our town propel us to our destination of enduring peace and harmony.
“To all our neighbours, Eruwa seek peaceful coexistence so that together we can lift up our people out of desolation and underdevelopment and jointly exploit the possibilities of the future, especially under a Governor Seyi Makinde government that is rapidly repositioning our state for accelerated development. We humbly beseech our Government not to deny our geopolitical zone our deserved portion of ongoing development strides.
“This is indeed a glorious day and another opportunity for a fresh start in this land of promise, Eruwa. I assure you the sun shall not be allowed to set on this beautiful beginning, this new chapter by God’s grace.”
He appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to make Eruwa, and indeed the entire Ibarapa geopolitical zone, feel the full impact of the accelerated and sustainable development happening in Oyo State.
“We seek a quick completion of the reconstruction of Eleyele Iddo Eruwa road as well as our inner network of township roads.
“We want the Agric Hub which groundbreaking was done with fanfare many months ago in Eruwa to fully take off. Our town has fulfilled its side of all arrangements, hence we expect Your Excellency to help us propel this project to a quicker start so that our people can start sharing in the attendant economic spin offs and its obvious prosperity.
“After many decades of their establishment our education, social and health care infrastructures are calling for a wholesale rehabilitation, reengineering, modern equipment and new facilities. Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, our District Hospital, our water works, older public primary and secondary schools in the town are the projects in point, all calling for renewal.
“Our population has also grown in leaps and bounds in recent decades, hence we call for an expansion of all our social facilities in Eruwa in particular and barapa axis in general.
“While we praise Your Excellency’s government for your insightful and courageous recruitment of teachers, health workers, security personnel and civil servants in general in recent months, we urge your administration, Sir to ensure Eruwa and all Ibarapa towns have deployed to our area our fair share of staff complements, especially teachers, state security agencies, and medical personnel.
“In concluding this speech it is only appropriate that I pledge once again the full cooperation of my stool in the service of Oyo state government and to assure the people of Eruwa that this new beginning shall usher into our town unprecedented peace, development and prosperity which we have long yearn for.
“I hereby accept wholeheartedly, with joy in my heart, humility in my stride, pride in my heritage and with eyes on a great legacy the status, office, paraphernalia and responsibilities of the exalted throne of the Eleruwa of Eruwa”, the monarch added.
