A socio-cultural group, Oduduwa Development Initiative (ODI) have called on all citizens particularly youths to make national interest a priority by supporting the various reforms of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
It also commended the leadership of the Nigeria Immigration Services for the various innovative measures which is raking the sector to be at par with international standards.
In a statement by the President, Oduduwa Development Initiative, Amb. Akinyele Olasumbo, the group particularly said the repositioning of the nation’s economy is been witness in the commitment of the present leadership of the Nigeria Immigration Service in improving the immigration services for overall economic development of our nation.
The statement reads in part: “The leadership of Oduduwa Development Initiative (ODI) wishes to use this medium in calling on all the Young people and entire citizen of this great country Nigeria to always put our nation first in all dealings and to support the on-going effort by the present civilian administration aimed at repositioning our nation’s economy as been witness presently in the commitment of the present leadership of the Nigeria Immigration Service in improving our immigration services for overall economic development of our nation.
“We quite appreciate and understand that the economic blue print (Renewed Hope Agenda) of the present civilian administration under the astute leadership of President Bole Ahmed Tinubu has intended to change the way we think, conduct and see ourselves as a people with common dreams, aspirations and destiny and move us from where we are today to where we ought to be as a nation in the years ahead.
“The entire congress and leadership of Oduduwa Development Initiative wishes to equally use this opportunity to commend Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap, the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration service for being a good ambassador of Yoruba race through her commitment and sacrifices towards rebranding the Nigeria Immigration Service for improved service delivery.
“Since her appointment as the Comptroller-General of NIS, Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap has initiated series of transformative changes. The introduction of technology into border control and immigration management through the e-Border Solution Project which has really enhanced the effectiveness and efficiency of NIS and has also assist in management and deployment of passenger data and information through Installation of e-Border facilities linked to CCTV camera linked to NIS Command and Control Centre at NIS Headquarters for proper monitoring and adequate security.
“Also worth of note and commendation is the successful completion of Command and Control Centre at NIS headquarters and roll-out of Passenger pre-boarding screening solutions (API/PNI) for ease of passenger’s clearance at point of entry and to also serve as security check.
“The successful completion of Data Centre at the Nigeria Immigration Service headquarters that serves as a hub for all NIS technological initiatives and development of a robust data management system by her leadership which enables the NIS to collect, analyse, and share data on migration trends.
“This data driving approach introduced by her leadership has informed policy decisions and improved the service’s ability to respond appropriately to emerging issues and challenges.
“For ease of operation and to enhance proper and adequate patrol activities at all Nigeria International Territorial boundaries the Comptroller-General of NIS Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap deployed utility vehicles at the border commands. And to her the welfare of staff of the NIS is of utmost priority as she ensure payment of cumulative backlog of burial benefits, transfer allowances, and other duty tour allowances (estimated in billions of naira).
