The member representing Ibadan NorthWest/Southwest Federal Constituency at the House of Representative, Honourable Adedeji Olajide popularly called Odidiomo has commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state for living up to expectations in ensuring that the memory of the late Southwest leader of the party, Soji Adagunodo is immortalised.
This is as he assures that that with the support of Governor Makinde by all other stakeholders, there is a brighter hope and future for the party, especially in resolving all crisis rocking the party.
The Federal lawmaker spoke on Saturday at the Commissioning of the Newly built Zonal Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Corenews.ng reports that Governor Makinde has on the death of Adagunodo promised to build a structure and name it after him.
The event has in attendance the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Umar ilya Damagum, Governor Ademola Adeleke, former governors, party leaders from the Zonal and across the country.
The building personally funded by Governor Makinde is named after late Olusoji Adagunodo, a former Chairman of the party in the Southwest.
Describing Makinde as an exceptional personal with high intellect, Olajide noted that the governor is fond of doing exceptional things as he is doing so much in turning the state to a paradise for the people.
He noted that with his ability, the governor has the capacity to become anything he wants to be in the country.
Olajide said “Well, there’s something in Yoruba called ‘Akanda enia’, you know when somebody is an exceptional person, he’s always doing exceptional things. You know our governor is known for doing exceptional things because he’s an exceptional human being.
“He’s doing very well. He turned Oyo state to a whole new paradise. We are very happy, we are very supportive and we appreciate everything that he’s doing for this wonderful state and we also know that he has the potential to become anything he wants to be.
“So we’re very thankful to God for such a leader. A visionary man, someone who can articulate everything he wants to do. He might appear that he is quite but he knows exactly what he wants to do and he’s doing just that.”
Speaking on the crisis in the party at the national level, Olajide urged all members not to politicised the issues but allow for peace as the matter is resolved amicably soon.
“Anybody who knows me knows that I have never joined any party but PDP.
“PDP has gone from being the best in the world to where we are today. We have our challenges and allow us. Let us face our problems. Let’s no politicize or make issue out of this.
“Yes we know we have challenges. We’re going to resolve them. We’re all matured men, we’re all matured leaders, we’re going to have difference. Our differences are not going to tear us apart. Yes we know that there will be fightings but when it does, we’re going to resolve our issues democratically and with dialogue.”
