Workers under the aegis of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), its counterpart, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP) and their affiliate have stormed the Oyo State Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
The decision to storm the Secretariat was arrived at by the workers during an enlarged Congress at the Labour House, American Quarters, Ibadan.
During the early morning Congress which was led by the Comrade Kayode Martins and Comrade Bosun Olabiyi, NLC and TUC Chairman respectively, the workers expressed displeasure at the labour leaders for not been able to reach a conclusion with government all the while.
Despite effort of the leaders to persuade the workers on o going negotiations, the workers ordered that the leaders march to the Secretariat, noting that they want to be part of the negotiations.
The workers also insisted on hearing a conclusion on the matter on Monday, leading to the marching to the state Secretariat by the workers who were mobilized from different affiliates of the Union.
