Tinubu committed to addressing challenges in education sector, Fed Poly Ayede board Chair assures

The Chairman of the governing board, Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Mrs Ademubowale Adelabu has said the President Bola Tinubu led administration is doing a lot to address the various challenges confronting the educational sector.

 

She spoke in a remark during the inaugural meeting of the new governing board and principal officers of the institution held at the institution’s temporary site along the Ogbomoso-Iresa Pupa road, Ayepe, Oyo state.

 

According to her, President Tinubu’s strong commitment to education, is reflected in the Renewed Hope Education Roadmap and its eight-point agenda.

 

These initiatives she said “aim to tackle pressing challenges in the education sector, including labor strikes, limited access to learning, and the overall competitiveness of educational systems.

 

“The overarching objectives are to rejuvenate the education sector, enhance skill development, boost enrollment, decrease the number of out-of-school children, and combat unemployment.

 

She said the inauguration marks a pivotal moment in the development stride of the institution as she called for collaboration and dedication among board members, principal officers, and stakeholders to foster an environment conducive to learning and progress.

 

Key agenda items included discussions on student and staff welfare, the enrollment of new students, rapid infrastructural development, and the urgent completion of the institution’s permanent site to facilitate the full resumption of academic activities.

 

The meeting was attended by council members, including Alhaji Aminu Sokoto, Mrs. Monisola Tegbe, Alhaji Modu Gobar Minta, Chief Matthew Adesanya, and Mrs. Nwokorie Chinyere, who represented the Federal Ministry of Education.

 

Other attendees included Rev. Okunade Abraham Akinola from the Ayede community, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Abdulhameed (Rector), Mr. Ojo Azeez and Dr. Akintunde Mutairu (Deputy Rectors), Alhaja Titilayo Rasheedat (Bursar), and Akin Odesola (Registrar), among others.

 

In what could be described as a proactive effort to garner support for the institution, the board members conducted courtesy visits to influential figures in the area including former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Chief Sunday Dare, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, and Senator Chief Ayoade Adeseun.

 

They also met with traditional leaders, such as the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Ọba Ghandi Afolabi Laoye, Onpetu of Ijeruland, Ọba Sunday Oladapo and the Arẹsa of Iresaapa Land, Ọba Moses Olayiwola, following discussions with the Ayede-in-Council and local community.

 

She however during the meetings with the community leaders by urging young individuals aiming for admissions into tertiary institutions to make the most of the current registration process available at the Federal Polytechnic Ayede.
