Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and all affiliates on Tuesday grounded activities at the Oyo state government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
The labour leaders who arrived the Secretariat as early as 7:30AM ensure all the entrance gates are shut, leaving our some workers who reported for duty.
The situation is in fulfilment of the threat by the labour leaders who on Monday expressed shocked and dismay at the level of non-compliance to the sit-at-home directive of the national leadership of the labour unions.
As it was on Monday, security operatives include officers of the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Department of State Security (DSS), Oyo Amotekun Corps among others.
The operatives have their patrol vans parked at strategic locations around the entrance gate.
As at the time of this report, the situation remains calm and some workers who reported for duty and denied entrance were still seated at the entrance gate.
The labour leaders whonare stationed at the entrance gate insisted on not allowing anyone entrance into the Secretariat.
Food vendors however are taking advantage of the situation to sell food and water to some stranded workers at the entrance gates.
While some brought their items in coolers, some other sellers had it packed already and selling to would be buyers.
The situation around the capital city also remained the same on Tueday as financial instituions, federal government establishments, Ouo state High Court, public primary and secondary schools did not open for business.
But, most private schools are carrying on their normal activities.
Vehicular movements have also continued unhindered as petrol stations around the city continue their business.
