Oyo State Post Primary Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) on Friday announced a review of the timetable for proposed Computer- Based Tests (CBT) for applicants into public schools across the state.
Chairman of the Commission, Pastor Akinade Alamu addressing a press conference said the review became imperative in view of the proposed nationwide protest to begin on August 1.
He said, the exams initially stated for five days between Monday July 29 to August 2, 2024 has now been reviewed to three days.
He noted that based on the review, the exams will now hold from Monday July 29 to Wednesday 31st with those initially slated for Thursday and Friday reallocated to be accommodated within the three days.
Akinade disclosed that, the decision was reached after a meeting with all relevant stakeholders including the TESCOM management, UI Distant Learning Centre (DLC) CBT Centre, all Test centres, interministerial committee, the consultant, among others.
He said the reviews was to ensure the protection of the applicants, the facilities and every other stakeholder.
The TESCOM boss explained that the management of the UI DLC CBT Centre have assured of sufficient human and material resources to ensure all the candidates partake in the exams within the three revised days.
He assures that arrangement has been concluded to send the new review and update to all applicants via SMS and email, adding that the review has also been uploaded on the Oyo State government job portal.
