The Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA) has commenced a major enforcement and sanitation campaign targeting unauthorized first party business signages across the state.

In a statement, the Director General of OYSAA, Hon. Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku, expressed concern over the increasing number of signage violations.

He highlighted that many businesses have erected signages without obtaining the necessary approvals from the agency and have also failed to pay the required signage fees as stipulated under OYSAA regulations.

He said, “This alarming trend undermines the orderly management of signage structures, thus defaced and compromises the urban aesthetic and adversely affects the internally generated revenue (IGR) of Oyo State.

“To address the issue, OYSAA has rolled out an immediate plan of action, which includes: removing all illegally installed signages, especially poorly constructed or unsafe structures.

“Sanctioning non-compliant businesses that fail to pay signage fees or adhere to OYSAA guidelines.

“Business owners are urged to regularize their signages promptly to avoid enforcement measures. Non-compliance will attract strict penalties, including the permanent removal of unauthorized signages and other necessary enforcement actions.

“OYSAA is committed to creating a safe, orderly, and visually appealing environment for businesses to thrive while ensuring strict adherence to established rules,” Eso-Ajanaku added.
