The Oyo state government has suspended Chief Kilani Ajani as the Baale of Ilua in Saki West Local Government Area of the state.

Chief Ajani’s suspension was premised on his activities, which have allegedly caused unrest and political strife within Ilua and Gbepakan communities.

According to a letter addressed to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Olusegun Olayiwola from the Attorney-General/Commissioner for Justice, Biodun Aikomo, Chief Ajani was recommended for suspension based on a letter from the Oyo State Solid Minerals Development Agency.

The suspension, which was approved by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, is to prevent the crisis in the communities from festering and to allow a fair investigation into the allegations against Chief Ajani.
