Oyo deputy Speaker, Fadeyi intervenes in Gbeleyi land dispute, sues for peace

The Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Fadeyi, has intervened in the lingering land disputes among families and residents of Gbeleyi community, located in Olorunda Ogunsola village, Ona-Ara local government, Ibadan.

 

This move follows petitions submitted to his office by concerned stakeholders and community leaders.

Hon. Fadeyi convened a peace meeting with all parties involved recently, stressing the importance of harmony and cooperation in the community.

 

Attendees at the meeting included, the Alajia of Ajia, the Oniladuntan of Laduntan, Baale of Gbeleyi, Chief Rafiu Mutiu Adegoke, Alh. Moshood Adeagbo Gbeleyi, and other key stakeholders.

The Deputy Speaker pledged to investigate the matter thoroughly, considering all perspectives.

 

During the meeting, Hon. Fadeyi appealed to security agencies to maintain neutrality and focus on maintaining peace and security.

 

He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to resolve the disputes amicably.

The Deputy Speaker said this was imperative to ensure peace and stability in Gbeleyi in Ona Ara local government.

 

According to him, a follow-up peace meeting will be convened soon to review progress made.

In their remarks, some of the stakeholders at the meeting expressed gratitude to the Deputy Speaker for his prompt intervention, and they expressed their readiness to cooperate with him.
