In a bid to ensure that residents of the state have access to potable water, the Oyo state government has revealed plans to spread its tentacles to all the geo-political zones in the state.

The Executive Chairman of Oyo State Water Corporation, Elias Adeojo, made the disclosure during a visit to the ongoing rehabilitation work in Ogbomoso water supply scheme.

According to him, all the schemes of the Corporation will be resuscitated to their full capacities to serve the teeming population of the state. He emphasized the importance of providing clean water to the residents, as outlined in the agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde’s second term.

He emphasised the need for replacing the main pipes that supply water to Ogbomoso town, as some of them have become obsolete or damaged due to urbanization.

The Chairman also met with the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, to discuss the rehabilitation work.

He thanked the monarch for his support to the corporation’s efforts to rehabilitate the water supply scheme.

He called on other monarchs, well-meaning individuals, and corporate organizations in the state to support the government’s development initiatives.

Meanwhile, a team of engineers from the Corporation has already begun repair work in the Ogbomoso Water Supply Scheme, replacing AC pipes with ductile pipes. The rehabilitation work is expected to be completed in a record time, ensuring that residents of Ogbomoso have access to clean and safe water.
