An Oyo State High Court 5 presided over by Justice Ladiran Akintola has ruled against the sine die adjournment application brough before it by the United Bank for Africa (UBA) on a matter that pertains to funds belonging to local governments in Osun state in its custody.
The ruling was given as the court resumes on Tuesday.
Corenews reports that, the Court had last week adjourned for ruling on the sine die application put before the court by UBA through its Counsel, Adebayo Ojo.
The request, according to the applicant was to adjourn indefinitely pending the judgement been awaited at the Supreme Court on the matter on which the current case is premise.
The bank had told the Court at the last hearing that the local government funds in contention were still in its safe custody and untouched by any party.
The matter was instituted by the Attorney General of Osun State against the bank and others for preservation of the Local government funds in its custody
The court ruled that the application could not be entertained noting that there is pending application challenging its jurisdiction
As at the time of this report, parties in the suit are engaging in ongoing legal fireworks over jurisdiction of the court to entertain the matter as well as application for joinders in the matter by other parties.
