NSITF reiterates commitment to paying employees, employers claims, workplace safety

Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) on Monday said it has moved above and beyond the expectations of her employees and employers by swiftly attending to their claims and compensation and ensuring employees are safeguarded at the workplace.
The Regional Manager, Ibadan, Mrs. Toyin Emeordi made the disclosure while speaking at the flag off of the World Customers Service Week, usually celebrated annually in the first full week in October.
The celebration themed “Above and Beyond” kickstarted with a rally and awareness event which held at the Ibadan region of the NSITF at their regional Office, Ring Road, Ibadan.
Speaking while declaring the event open, Mrs Emeordi reflected on the significant reforms going on at the fund in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
She said the Fund has, with a renewed commitment enaured that employees and employers get their claims amd compensation duly paid while also placinh premium on safety of both employees and employers atcthe workplace.
She added that a new hope of adequately meeting employees’ compensation is renewed at the fund
Emeordi said “The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has moved above and beyond the expectations of our employees and employers by swiftly attending to their claims and compensation and ensuring employees are safeguarded at the workplace.
“In a recent retreat in Lagos by the new Management, testimonies from the beneficiary of the fund support were presented, which was highly applauded by the Senate committee members of labor and employment of the 10th Senate.
“A new hope of adequately meeting employees’compensation is renewed at the fund.”
The event continued with a sensitization road walk along Ring Road with staff sharing flyers on the Employees Compensation Scheme (ECS).
The week-long event will on Thursday (Day 4) coincide with the World Day for Mental Health.
Speaking on the plan, the Regional head of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Mr. Gbenga Oso said staff will be enjoined at the seminar to go above and beyond to meet employee satisfaction and mental health.
A consultant Psychiatrist, Dr. Afolabi Oyeyemi from University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan is expected to sensitize the workforce on prioritizing mental health at the workplace.
