A yet-to-be-identified middle aged woman was on Wednesday killed by a lone crash when a truck which break failed rammed into the popular Eleyele market, Ibadan North local government area, Oyo State.
Several others persons also suffered varying degrees of injury as many scampered to safety as the truck crushed it’s way into the market to stop it’s movement.
The DAF model truck, it was gathered, was loaded with granite but lost control while approaching the popular market from Dugbe end and killed one person in the process.
Sources hinted that the driver’s effort while trying to manouvre the truck didn’t yield as he lost control of the vehicle due to the break failure.
The injured victims are receiving medical attention at the neighborhood hospitals.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Sango/Eleyele Motor Park, Olanrewaju Qazeem and Iyaloja of Eleyele market, Chief Mrs Ramota Aare Ajobiare said the incident occured at the early hours of Wednesday.
They disclosed that one person died while several others were injured.
Also, the Public Relations Officer, Federal Road Safety Commission, Oyo sector Command, Mayowa Odewo confirmed that one person died while several others were injured in lone crash at Eleyele area
Effort to reach the police was futile as at the time of the report.
