…As Olugbon promises intervention

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has urged on the Federal Government to remove his name from wanted list, saying he is not a criminal and should not be treated as such.
Igboho made the plea on Tuesday in a remark when he honored an invitation by the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Alao, at his Ile Igbon Palace.
He said declaring him wanted by the immediate past administration at the federal level has put him in a difficult situation to the point that he cannot access his passport from his base in Germany.
He expressed shock and dismay at whatever crime he had committed that warranted been placed on the wanted list by the Federal Government as led by the Late President Muhammadu Buhari.
He noted that he would not have returned to Nigeria but for the invitation and assurance by the royal father, noting that the security and protection of the Southwest has been his pursuit in which he was been persecuted wrongly for.
He said, he knew the monarch, as a proud and good royal father and genuine Yoruba leader can help him clear his name, he saw the need for him to come and seek his intervention.
Noting that he is tired of life outside his native country, the Yoruba Nation Agitator said he had raised the same issue with the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade.
He said, his trouble started when he decided to stand up and protect Yorubaland from killer herders and putting a stop to the havoc they were wrecking on the natives and host communities.
He said, all traditional rulers, community waders and genuine Yoruba sons and daughters must stand up to defend and ensure the protection of the entire Yorubaland, adding that if given the chance he will ensure adequate security and protection.
He added that, even if not given the task, he is ready to work with whoever is entrusted with the task, but stressed that the safety amd protection of Yorubaland and heritage is non negotiable.
Igboho said, “Some people have gathered again threatening that Tinubu will not do a second term. They have aligned with the Fulanis to work against Tinubu, then what is the essence of our working together with them. I don’t want to talk before they begin to say I am talking to much.
“I have come to appeal to you our fathers, on the security and protection of Yorubaland, how you will handle it, it is not mandatory that they give it to me, let them give it to anyone who can handle it and we will support him. I know Kabiyesi, you have the powers.
“Then, why is the wanted tag placed on me? I cant have Nigerian Passport or anything. I applied for the passport in Germany, they wrote me a letter that, I am wanted, I have a copy of the letter written by he Nigerian government to the German Embassy that they can’t issue me a passport that the Buhari government has declared me wanted and I am not free.
“If not that you assured me to come, I can’t come because I know I don’t have the powers. But since you assured me, I know I can come and nobody can stop me, the only problem is that whoever waylay me will not go scot free. Whoever will want to stop me will either kill me on the way.
“You are our father, a good on at that, a courageous and powerful Yoruba Oba who has power on the entire Yorubaland. What I want is that, the security of entire Yorubaland is in your hand, how you will help us take care of it. We your children are ready to work and if they removed the wanted tag on me and set me fee, I will do well, I’m not boasting or praising myself.”
Responding to his request, Oba Alao assured him that a letter to the effect would be written to the federal government and the Southwest governors in the next 48 hours.
According to the monarch, Igboho is not a criminal and should not be treated as such, noting that What he fought for is what the people enjoying today in Yorubaland in terms of the leadership of the country.
He said he will work with other monarchs to beg President Bola Tinubu to forgive him and accept him again.
Olugbo who prayed for him also assured him that he will ensure that Igboho is reunited and accepted both by the Federal and state government.
He said, “The grace and privilege that you have to have come here, we have received and hosted you an I can assure you that by the grace of God, the Federal Government and Oyo state government will also receive you.
“All the pleadings that we have to beg the Federal government over you, I will talk to the Alaafin of Oyo and we will make effort because you are not a criminal.
“I am saying it, Sunday Igboho is not a criminal. By all his efforts, we struggle here and there as we now have this government and we cannot have power now and we will say we don’t know him. I am begging our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to look merciful on you and let him accept you.”
