Members of the Olubadan-in-Council, High Chiefs, Compound heads (Mogajis), Community heads (Baales), community leaders, women groups, socio-cultural groups, members of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), trade groups, political functionaries and other eminent sons and daughters of Ibadanland have arrived the Ondo street, Bodija, Ibadan residence of the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Ladoja in anticipation of the arrival of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
While the top shots including members of the Olubadan-in-Council are seated and waiting at inside the large parlour of the bungalow, other indigenes who started arriving as early as 8:30AM, full of excitement take their seats under the big canopy mounted within Ladoja’s residence.
Dressed in mostly white outfit, the waiting indigenes are been treated to soronous music by the local drummers and percussionist.
The drummers, in the various groups took positions separately, welcoming guests and dignitaries with the drumming amd chanting.
Vehicles of different types, sizes and shapes also filled both sides of the long stretch of the Ondo street leading to the residence, leaving only a lane for motorists and paassers-by.
From the entrance junction, combined security operatives including Amotekun Corps are strategically located, looking alert and ready.
Petty traders who sell snacks, drinks also seized the opportunity to make quick business as they sell their stocks.
The visit of the Ooni to the would-be 44th Olubadan is seen by stakeholders as historic show of unity and a move aimed at strengthening unity and deepening traditional ties between the two foremost Yoruba thrones.
Others believed the visit is a major step towards promoting peace, cultural understanding, and solidarity among Yoruba traditional rulers, as it is not just ceremonial but symbolic of the unity which must continue to be upheld among Yoruba traditional institutions.
According to a source, the visit of Ooni to the Olubadan-designate is a testament to the strength and respect royal fathers have for one another, as it sends powerful message to people about harmony and mutual respect.
All members of the Olubadan-in-Council, high chiefs, Ibadan mogajis, baales, CCII, babalojas, iyalojas, political functionaries and other eminent sons and daughters of Ibadanland are expected to come out in large numbers to give the Ooni a rousing welcome, underscoring the collective spirit and pride of the people.
