Amuloko road carnage: Oyo Deputy Speaker, Fadeyi offers condolences

Following the devastating road accident at Amuloko, Ibadan on Monday which claimed the lives of not less than six people including school children, the Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammad Fadeyi has extended heartfelt sympathies to the families of the affected victims.

 

Recounting the tragic incident on the floor of the House on Tuesday, Hon. Fadeyi described the incident as unfortunate and sad.

 

According to him, the accident which involved a trailer conveying tiles and a truck loaded with soft drinks, occurred at Oke Eleshin, Amuloko on Akanran Road, in the Ona Ara Local Government Area of the state.

 

He said “Mr. Speaker Sir, It was a sad Monday yesterday in Amuloko area of my constituency as a fatal accident claimed several lives. According to eyewitness accounts, one of the trucks lost control while descending the popular Oke-Elesin hill and ran over other vehicles, including a tricycle popularly called Keke Marwa.

 

“I will like to use this medium to sympathise with the families of those affected in the accident. I pray to God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable losses.”

 

The Deputy Speaker requested a minute silence to honor the victims and prayed for the repose of their souls.

 

“Mr. Speaker, may I request for a minute silence for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the accident. May God give their families the strength to bear the irreplaceable losses.”

 

Fadeyi urged residents to bear with the Oyo state government as they continue to work on the dualisation of Olorunsogo-Ariyo-Amuloko-Dagbolu road.
