Akinyele Council boss donates equipment to security agencies

The Executive Chairman, Akinyele Local Government, Hon Taoheed Adedigba has donated operational equipment to all security agencies within the local government area.
The beneficiary agencies include: Nigeria Army 2 Mechanised Division, Odogbo Oojo, Nigeria Police Force, Akinyele, Moniya, Igbooloyin, Ikereku, Oojo, Department of State Security (DSS) Moniya, Civil Defence Corps, Igbooloyin, Moniya, Oojo Kajorepo, Nigeria Correctional Service, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigeria Customs Services, Nigeria Immigration Services, Vigilante group, Soludero and Amotekun.
Items donated include, brand new motocycles, Motorolla walkie-talkie (10 kilometer radius), laptops with printers, generators and financial aid.
Adedigba said the donation was to ensure effective war against crime and support the security operatives to better enhance their efficiency in the bid to protecting lives and properties of citizens and residents of the council area and the state by extension.
Speaking while presenting the items, the Council boss explained that one of the sole responsibilities of any elected officer is to ensure adequate protection of life and property of electorate from any external force and see to it that the whole communities is free from any criminal acts which in turn create atmosphere for economic growth.
He harped on the harmonious relationships between the security agencies and the local government urging the parties to keep collaborating through professionalism and tireless effort in curbing crime and foster peaceful and safe environment where citizens can be rest assured that life and properties are well protected.
He noted that since safety of life and property is key to the Governor Seyi Makinde administration, the local government cannot but key into agenda in ensuring that Akinyele local government is free from all crimes and criminalities.
The council Chairman told all the security agencies that society is expecting much from them and government will not relent in her efforts by providing necessary equipment.
He said the distribution of security equipments is the first phase, adding that the second phase will soon take place.
He thanked Governor Makinde for the privilege to serve. He commended the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters for the timely support to the council area.
While responding on behalf of others, the DPO Akinyele Division appreciated the support received and assured citizen of better communities policing.
The event had in attendance, top management staff of the council.
