While speaking, Hamzat highlighted what he described as the invaluable support provided by Governor Makinde in strengthening the security architecture in the state through the donation of over 120 vehicles, provision of modern day communication gadgets and personal motivation for the officers and men of the command.

According to the Police boss, the modern day gadgets procured for the Police by the governor has enabled him and other senior colleagues to monitor happenings in the state from any part of the federation.

He agreed with Prince Oyelade that in all the eight states where he had served as commissioner before, none is as peaceful as Oyo state.

He furthered that community policing has been highly successful to combat crime in Oyo State because the Governor gives Policemen extra incentives and motivation apart from their regular salaries, while the populace is generally happy to cooperate with the Police.

He urged residents of the state to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities by calling the emergency number 615 in case of emergency.

He noted that the current administration in Oyo state is in the good books of Police hierarchy throughout Nigeria because of the successful hosting of over 4,000 Policemen during the 2024 Police Games which held in Ibadan earlier in the year.

Speaking earlier, the State Commissioner of information and Orientation, Prince oyelade, said, from research, no state government in the federation has done more for the protection of its citizens than Governor Makinde adding that, the feat accounts for why Oyo state remains one of the safest states in the country today.

The information commissioner said apart from other infrastructures that are being put in place, the atmosphere of peace is also rubbing off positively on the commerce and economic development of Oyo State.
