New Ibadan Palace excites Olubadan, Council members

The level of work at the ongoing ultra modern palace of Olubadan of Ibadanland at Oke-Aremo, Agala area of the Oyo State capital was on Wednesday described as cheering and commendable.

 

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, made the remarks after the general inspection and assessment tour of the palace by the monarch, his Olori, Olufunmilayo and some of the members of the Olubadan Advisory Council.

 

On the inspection and assessment tour with Oba Balogun were Obas Owolabi Olakulehin, Tajudeen Ajibola, Biodun Kola-Daisi, Kolawole Adegbola, Hamidu Ajibade and Abiodun Azeez, the Balogun, Otun Balogun, Ashipa Olubadan, Ashipa Balogun, Ekerin Olubadan and Ekarun Balogun respectively.

 

At the site to receive the royal entourage were the President-General (PG) of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole, some of the members of his executive committee and high ranked officials of the contracting firm handling the two-phased project.

 

Olubadan, who spoke through the Otun Balogun, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola after the inspection and the assessment expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on the almost a decade old project.

 

Olubadan, who poured encomiums on the governor of the state, Seyi Makinde, for his total commitment to the completion of the palace project, stressing that “with the level of work done and the pace at which work is going, the plan to commission the project before the month runs out is very much realistic.

 

“We have gone round the whole site and as you can see by yourself, the work is progressing at a very high speed to our admiration. To be candid, we are happy at what we saw as everything is being done according to specifications. The only lacuna which was pointed out by Olori Olubadan is lack of general kitchen and which was reported to the appropriate people promptly”, he added.

 

Oba Ajibola said “the Olubadan Advisory Council led by Oba Lekan Balogun is happy and we send commendation to our governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), the Olubadan Palace Committee and everybody involved directly or indirectly in the project with prayers that the Almighty Allah will reward everyone bountifully”.

 

Chief Ajewole and site officials led the royal team round the palace project during which identifications of apartments were made to the admiration of all.
