The INCITIS_FOOD Project seeks to improve the food system in African cities. To this end, the Consortium came up with a circular model for integrating aquaculture with various plants, insects, and animal production.

The Principal Investigator of the Programme in UI, Dr O.O.Oyebola, at the official opening of the Research and Training facilities, noted that vital research and developmental innovation that is not disseminated, is a waste.

He said this explains the establishment of a Living Lab where the challenge of adequate agricultural land for food production in the cities is addressed.

The facility also has a 40- participants capacity building outdoor training centre.

The Living Lab and all its various buildings were opened by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Aderonke M. Baiyeroju.
