The management of Federal College of Forestry, Jericho, Ibadan has asked all members of staff of the institution to report to their duty post with effect from Monday (today).

The management noted that although all academic activities remain suspended and the school shut down, the staff are expected to report to their duty posts notwithstanding.

The decision was communicated to the Heads of Departments and staffs via a circular dated October 27, 2023 and signed by the Registrar of the College, Mrs Abebi Agun.

The circular reads “The College management appreciates the role staff played in the recent uproar in the College. May God bless us.

“I have the directive to inform all staffs that the closure of the College affect only students and not members of staff. In this wise, all staffs are to resume work on Monday 30th October, 2023.

“This directive should be treated as very important please. “Thank you for your usuall cooperation. Accept the Acting Provost warmest regards.”

A source in the school said the circular has been given the required publicity by all Heads of Departments who have also sent messages to their units members via the group social media platforms.

Corenews reports that the management had ordered for the immediate closure of the school and suspension of all academic activities last week Wednesday following the invasion of the school by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) who were on official duties, a day earlier.

The presence of the operatives had led to an uproar and altercation with students and staffs of the College. No life was lost in the fracas that ensued.
