The Oyo State Water Corporation has secured commitment from the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) in ensuring stable electricity supply, hence, marking a pivotal step towards sustainable development.
The Executive Chairman of the Corporation, Elias Adeojo made the revelation shortly after convening a meeting with IBEDC representatives in his office to forge a path to reliable power.
Adeojo expressed his approval of IBEDC’s willingness to engage their company stressing on the need to have consistent electricity that can be used to channel provision of clean water to residents
He expressed the readiness of the Governor Seyi Makinde’s Omituntun 2.0 Agenda in reviving the Asejire Water Supply Scheme, being a dam that is serving Ibadan and its environs.
In his remarks, IBEDC’s Regional Technical Manager, Engr. Ismaila Nuhu, reassured their dedication to enhancing statewide operational capacity.
He further explained the urgency of restoring power line to the Asejire Water Supply Scheme while reiterating their commitment to swift action following the installation of necessary equipment
Similarly, Engr. Nuhu stressed that a team of engineers have been dispatched to initiate the restoration process.
He underscored the importance of regular bill settlements by the Corporation to maintain an uninterrupted power supply and a synergistic partnership
