Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested three male suspects in Saki following an intelligence-driven operation into allegations of unnatural sexual conduct, police authorities confirmed.

The arrests were carried out by officers from the Monitoring Unit, Saki Operational Base, following direct instructions from the Commissioner of Police to verify intelligence received on September 29, 2026.

The operation led to the apprehension of three young men identified as 22-year-old Ayomide Lukeman, 22-year-old Shuaib Aremu, and 23-year-old Abdul-Rasheed Mufeed.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly confessed to engaging in homosexual acts during questioning.

“In the course of preliminary investigations, the suspects allegedly admitted to engaging in homosexual acts,” stated DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, Police Public Relations Officer for the Oyo State Police Command.

“Specifically, two of the suspects reportedly confessed to having had carnal knowledge of the third suspect on multiple occasions, with the latter allegedly regarded by them as their ‘wife.'”

Police authorities noted that investigations remain ongoing to uncover the full details of the case and identify any other individuals who may be involved.

Addressing the public on the ongoing investigation, police officials emphasized that the matter would be handled strictly in accordance with legal guidelines and standard procedures.

“Against this backdrop, the Oyo State Police Command reiterates its commitment to conducting investigations professionally, impartially, and in accordance with the law.

“The Command assures the public that all necessary investigative procedures will be followed to establish the facts and ensure that appropriate action is taken based on the outcome of the investigation”, Ayanlade added.

The police command encouraged citizens to maintain active collaboration with law enforcement agencies by sharing actionable information to aid crime prevention and investigation across the state.
