The Oyo State APM Governorship Campaign Council has criticized the Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation, characterizing its recent political attacks as a clear sign of panic and imminent defeat in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

Responding to claims surrounding remarks made by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, the campaign described the opposition’s narrative as a deliberate misrepresentation of standard administrative protocol aimed at misleading the public.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Co-Director of Media and Publicity for the campaign council, Governor Mohammed’s comments were strictly a routine gesture of intergovernmental courtesy acknowledging federal collaboration.

The council emphasized that the remarks did not signify a shift in political allegiance, an endorsement of President Bola Tinubu, or a retraction of Governor Mohammed’s previous support for Governor Seyi Makinde.

The campaign noted that governors across the country regularly acknowledge federal support when it benefits their citizens, pointing out that Governor Makinde had similarly commended federal efforts following a successful rescue operation in the Oriire area earlier this year.

The statement argued that the opposition’s attempt to elevate a harmless diplomatic courtesy into a political crisis highlights their inability to challenge Governor Makinde on substantive governance issues.

The campaign asserted that Makinde’s track record, people-centered policies, and growing national profile continue to resonate strongly with the electorate, leaving his opponents with no viable strategy other than political distortion.

Firmly dismissing the opposition’s claims, the campaign declared that voters in Oyo State remain focused on concrete performance rather than political spin, expressing confidence that the electorate will ultimately reject the opposition at the polls and keep them far from the Agodi Government House.
