The Oyo State Secretary of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Ademola Oke on Tuesday said the purported defection of some opposition party to the APM has been described as untrue.
This is as the state secretary, dissociated the executive of the party from what it termed musical concert by Governor Seyi Makinde and his men.
The Nation reports that, an aide of the former Minister of Power, Ajiboye Akande had a concert under the guise of Boye Nation /JAF with a claim that many politicians from different parties, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC) decamped to the APM.
The concert had in attendance, Governor Seyi Makinde, the APM governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi, and all candidates of the party from the National to the state house of Assembly.
Makinde is the presidential candidate of the APM.

Speaking, Oke, who said that the gathering should not be interpreted as a political defection, said none of the 351 ward chairmen was in attendance.
He said, “APM is a structured party. Nobody defected to our party. We have procedures for defection, and none of the APC structures — from ward to state level joined us. How could people join us and there was no communication between us?
“The public should disregard claims suggesting that the party received a major influx of APC members. The attendance at the Adamasingba event should not be presented as a formal political movement.
”Genuine defections should be identified through the appropriate party structures and procedures, not through hired crowds and concerts at a CAF-rejected stadium.”
