Tax expert, Oyebola challenges practitioners on professionalism, integrity

A leading tax expert, accountant and auditor, Olayinka Oyebola has urged tax practioners across the country to uphold ethical practice and integrity in their operations.
Oyebola who is the Managing Partner, Olayinka Oyebola & Co Consult (O.O and Co) gave the charge in a statement to congratulate members and practitioners under the aegis of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria on the occasion of the 28th Annual Tax Conference of the Institute.
The conference with the theme: “Tax Reforms and Global Relevance: Positioning Nigeria’s Tax System for a Sustainable Future”, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja between May 11-15, 2026 was attended by dignitaries, scholars, experts, practitioners, and other stakeholders from various sectors of the economy.
In the statement, Oyebola whose firm, Olayinka Oyebola & Co Consult was one of the sponsors of the event maintained that theme of the conference was apt as it will scale up the practice and align it with best practices across the globe.
He congratulated the leadership and management of the Institute on the success of the conference.
Harping on the place of ethical practices and integrity, Oyebola said his experiences over the years had shown that the country is blessed with experts who can help shape the industry and compete with their peers across the globe.
He recounted the recent issues involving his firm, far away in the United States of America, noting that his team has taken their lesson from the incident and has moved on after it has been given a clean slate by the appropriate authorities concern.
Oyebola reiterated his firm’s commitment to standard procedure in line with best international practices, urging tax experts in the country to be weary of those who serve as “sharks” aiming to mislead and derail innocent practitioners.
He added that his firm has been working in concert with relevant authorities and stakeholders within and outside the country to ensure that tax practice in the country is upheld without compromise.
