IBEDC confirms abduction of two staff members

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has confirmed the abduction of two of its members of staff under the Ogun region.
The Company in a statement signed by the management said the incident occured on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
It was gathered that the personnel were abducted while the officials were on official duties.
Following the development, rhe company said it is working closely with relevant security agencies to ensure the safe return of the affected staff, while also in active engagement with their families, providing the necessary support.
The statement said the company is deeply concerned about the situation and requested understanding and restraint as it prioritize the safety and well-being of those involved.
The statement reads in part, “Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc (IBEDC) confirms that two of its staff members under Ogun region were abducted on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

“We are deeply concerned about this situation, and our thoughts are with our colleagues and their families at this difficult time.
“IBEDC is working closely with relevant security agencies to ensure the safe return of the affected staff. We are also in active engagement with their families, providing the necessary support.
“Given the sensitive nature of this incident and ongoing efforts to resolve it, we are unable to provide further details at this time.
“We kindly request understanding and restraint as we prioritize the safety and well-being of those involved. We will provide updates as appropriate.”
