Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state on Monday sent the ribs of his audience cracking when he confirmed he saw a viral Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated picture of himself seated with empty chairs with the inscription of holding PDP governors forum meeting alone.
The governor who could not stop laughing while sharing his experience said he does not mind when people say he’s standing alone, so long he was on the right track and doing the right thing.
The event was the signing of the 2026 Appropriation Bill at an event which held at the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s Office, State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
The governor made the digression in his remark while trying to drive home his point on why the state will not follow paths that are not based on data, science and logic.
Makinde said, “We dare to be different here in Oyo State. People may say, we are standing alone. Yes, we will stand alone.
“I saw, an AI generated picture of me holding PDP governors forum meeting alone.
“But, if we are sure we are standing in the right place alone. Yes, that’s why we are Oyo people. The history behind us is that we will do our own thing.”
