The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade will on Sunday, 21st of December, confer chieftaincy titles on the son of President Bola Tinubu, Seyi and a former governor of Zamfara State, Abubakar Yari.
The development was confirmed in a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin, Bode Durojaiye,.
According to the statement, former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abubakar Yari will receive the chieftaincy title of Obaloyin of Yorubaland, representing love, compassion, justice, and a bridge between physical and spiritual realms.
While Seyi Tinubu, a business magnate and son of Nigeria’s President, will receive the Okanlomo of Yorubaland title, symbolizing a custodian of Yoruba values, unity, and cultural heritage.
The statement concluded that both titles come with responsibilities like promoting Yoruba culture, advising the Alaafin, fostering unity, and advancing education and social welfare.
