Itajobi resumes as Western District Manager, NRC

Mrs. Naomi Itajobi has officially assumed office as the Western District Manager of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, with an assurance that it will be a new era for the district.

Since taking over on August 29, 2025, Mrs. Itajobi reiterated her commitment to improving working conditions, staff welfare, and driving revenue growth.

In a statement signed by the District Public Relations Officer, Olawale Ayeni, the new District Manager paid a visit to some offices in the district headquarters where staff complained about dilapidated office furniture and leaking roofs.

The statement added that the new District Manager, however directed the provision of palliative measures for the leaking roofs, requested new furniture from headquarters, and even replaced the DA(W) secretary’s chair with one from her office.

The statement added, “On September 3, 2025, Mrs. Itajobi visited the District Industrial Clinic, where she met with clinic staff, emphasized the importance of a healthy workforce, and presented N50,000 to support the bills of patients.

“Mrs. Itajobi has also directed the necessary repairs of rail road vehicles, which will be of great economic importance. She promised to follow up on the need for a new jack for use in derailment sites.

“Under her leadership, the district witnessed the arrival of a cement rake train that had been stationed at Offa station for three months due to heavy washout at km 288 and km 294. The track was successfully repaired, and the train passed through to Ibadan for onward dispatch to Ewekoro.

“On September 9, 2025, Mrs. Itajobi received the Operations Manager of Maerskline, Mr. Rotimi Atolagbe, marking a significant step towards potential collaboration and partnership with British American Tobacco (BAT) to boost economic activities and increase revenue for the Corporation.

“These initiatives demonstrate Mrs. Itajobi’s commitment to improving the Western District of the Nigerian Railway Corporation and driving growth and productivity. With her leadership, the district is poised for a bright future.”
