In a shocking move, a member, Advisory Council of the Nigerian Youth Congress, Oyo State chapter, Oyejide Adeniyi has announced his resignation from the Congress, citing personal and ethical reasons.
According to a public statement issued by Adeniyi, his decision to step down is driven by two main factors.
Firstly, he cited his increasingly demanding schedule, which would no longer allow him to contribute meaningfully to the Congress’s activities, saying: “I have lots of things on my table to deal with, which means I won’t have enough time for the Congress again.”
Adeniyi also expressed his disapproval of attempts to introduce honorary memberships within the organization, which he believes could be perceived as exploitative.
This move, he said has raised concerns about the organization’s integrity and commitment to its values.
In a stern warning, Adeniyi cautioned that anyone using his name in connection with the NYC after his resignation would face legal consequences.
“Anybody that uses my name, as I have renounced my membership from NYC, will be sued and I will also sue the NYC,” he emphasized.
Adeniyi’s resignation has sent shockwaves through the NYC, with many members and stakeholders left wondering about the implications of his departure.
As the news continues to unfold, Adeniyi reiterated that his commitment to his cherished values, integrity and principles has led him to take a stand and distance himself from the organization.
