The remains of a two-year-old girl who died after jumping into a well has been recovered.
The incident happened around Orita Mokola Junction, Seedu Sabarumu, Sango, Saki, Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State.
It was gathered that the girl was inside the well for a long time.
Confirming the incident, Oyo State Fire Services Agency said the body was recovered from the the well by its officers from the Saki Zonal Command.
The Chairman of Oyo State Service, Maroof Akinwande, in confirming the report said, āāthe emergency call was reported at Saki Fire Station at exactly 13:43hrs by a running caller and Mr. Adewole to someone who fell into a well at the above address.
āāThe Agency’s Officers led by PFS11 Saka quickly left to the scene of the incident. On arrival, we were informed that a girl of two years of age was inside the well for a long time. We swiftly engaged our rescue equipment and CFM Adediran Jacob entered the well for searching-and-rescuing operationsāā.
He said the girl was recovered and handed over to a team of policemen led by CSP Odunbanjo Kehinde for further necessary action.

The cause of the incident was unknown and fire service Post Incident Investigation Team (PIIT) is carrying out necessary investigation to know the root cause of the unfortunate incidentāā, he said.
The chairman urged the public to take all safety measures in protecting their well and septic pits from free accessibility to the public so as to avoid being a death trap.
