In commemoration of the Global Day of Gospel Outreach, the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has called on Christians across the country to engage in widespread evangelism in bringing salvation to humanity, fostering peace and love in an increasingly troubled world.
He made the call in a statement he personally signed and issued on Saturday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital city.
The cleric, who is also the Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, described evangelism as a divine mandate and a vital means through which people can escape the bondage of sin and eternal damnation.
He said, “Beloved, first, I give thanks to God for your life, your salvation, and for the word of the Lord that comes to you day by day. May the name of the Lord be glorified in your life forever.
“Today, we have another glorious opportunity to declare the gospel of Christ to people in our communities as witnesses of Christ’s death and resurrection. The gospel is the power of God to save people from sin and from hell.”
The PFN leader urged believers to go out boldly, sharing the message of Christ under the leading of the Holy Spirit.
“Let us encourage and motivate one another to go out where the people are, just as Christ our Lord commanded us,” he said. “The Lord shall go with you, His hand shall be with you, many shall turn to Christ and be saved, and you shall receive a reward from Christ as you go. Go therefore and preach the gospel of Christ today. It is well with you. Shalom”, the statement read in part.
The Global Day of Gospel Outreach is an annual initiative aimed at mobilizing Christians worldwide to spread the message of Christ’s salvation.
