The General Officer Commanding ( GOC), 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Bamidele Alabi has promised to do all in his powers to ameliorate the administrative and logistic issues in 22 Brigade.
Major General Alabi made this promise while addressing the troops of 22 Armoured Brigade in ILLORIN recently during his familiarization visit to the Brigade Area of Responsibility.
Major Genera Alabi said that addressing the administrative and logistic issues of the Brigade is in line with the vision of the Chief Of Army Staff, aimed at transforming the Nigerian Army into a well trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving the Constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.
According to him carrying out such tasks would guarantee soldiers welfare and this will in turn motivate them into discharging their duties.
He assured the troops of effective leadership and sound administration throughout his time in office as the General Officer Commanding.
The GOC commended the troops of the 22 Armoured Brigade for a job well done, stating that their operations has been impressive.
Major General Alabi further urged the men to be more dedicated, committed and disciplined in discharging their assignments as the security of the nation depends on them.
In a related development, the Governor of Kwara state, His Excellency Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has called on traditional rulers and stakeholders to cooperate with the Nigerian Army and other Security agencies by giving them correct and timely information that will help rid our communities and the country of criminals.
Mallam Abdulrazaq made this call,while flagging off, “EXERCISE STILL WATERS 111,” at ORO AGO, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara state.
The Governor who stressed the importance of the Nigerian Army to work in synergy other Security Agencies in a bid to meeting the expectations of Nigerians in tackling the numerous security challenges, maintained that their success also depends on the strength of the support given to them by different traditional rulers, stakeholders in our communities.
Represented by the Deputy Governor, Mr Alabi who expressed happiness to be part of the flagging off ceremony, maintaining that the event presented another milestone in checkmating and warding off criminal elements from gaining toehold in the state and country at large.
Mallam Abdulrazaq noted that he felt happy that the NA and other Security agencies are synergizing to stamp out different violent crimes such as terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping amongst others.
His Excellency commended the Chief of army staff Lt Genl TA Lagbaja for his visionary leadership style and strategic thinking in conceiving the idea of organizing the end of the year exercise. He also applauded the GOC Maj Gen BA Alabi for ensuring the flag off and conduct of the exercise.
The Governor further expressed his appreciation to the Commander, 22 Armoured Brigade, Brig Gen AA Babalola for the support he has been rendering and for helping in sustaining peace and stability in the state.
In his remarks, the General Officer Commanding, 2 division, Nigerian Army, Major General BA Alabi said that the operation Exercise Still Waters 3, was conducted to create a safe and conducive environment for the people of Kwara State and the South West during the Yuletide season.
